July 18, 2008- STC awarded for GH-3100 ESIS and Optional Emergency Bus in a Sikorsky S-76A/B/C

Londonderry, NH - Pro Star Aviation announced today that they received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the installation of a L3 Communication Avionics Systems GH-3100 Electronic Standby Instrument System (ESIS) and Optional Emergency Bus. The STC has been awarded for the installation in a Sikorsky S-76A, A-76B or S-76C model rotorcraft under STC number SR00274BO. Designed to replace conventional electro-mechanical standby attitude, airspeed and altitude instruments, the solid-state GH-3100 ESIS as certified under this STC provides all three functions, plus slip/skid, and navigation data from the helicopter’s existing FMS and pilot’s VHF navigation receiver in a single three-inch flat-panel display. The GH-3100 features an integrated air data sensor card with pitot and static connections directly to the unit, which eliminates the need for a remote mounted air data computer. An Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) provides exceptional readability in direct sunlight as well as dark cockpit environments. The GH-3100 replaces an existing mechanical Standby Electric Attitude Indicator and interfaces to an existing 5Ah Emergency Power Supply such as the L3 Communications Avionics Systems PS-835D or an equivalent. As an option, the power being supplied to the pilot’s communication transceiver, pilot’s navigation receiver, and the clearance delivery controller from the 28VDC essential bus may be re-bussed. If implemented the systems noted will be fed from the 28VDC essential bus, or if that bus fails and an emergency power switch located on the instrument panel is armed, they will be fed from the existing 5Ah Emergency Power Supply. This STC adds to the more than 40 STCs that Pro Star Aviation now holds on a wide variety of aircraft for systems like TCAS, FMS, EGPWS, EFIS, Moving Map, Satellite TV, SATCOM, High Speed Data and RVSM.

July 17, 2008- STC awarded for Tail Shaft Cover Antenna Mount for use in a Sikorsky S-76A/B/C

Londonderry, NH – Pro Star Aviation announced today that they received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the installation of a tail rotor shaft cover antenna mount on a Sikorsky S-76A/B/C series rotorcraft. The Tail Shaft Cover Antenna Mount is made up of three items. A Contour Adapter and an Antenna Mount Doubler, both fabricated from aluminum, are mounted on the centerline of the tail rotor drive shaft cover to allow the installation of a variety of low profile low weight antenna styles. An External Doubler also aluminum, is installed on the exterior surface of the tail boom just forward of FS 439.0 to allow the installation of one or two antenna coaxial cable feed through connectors as needed. This STC adds to the more than 40 STCs that Pro Star Aviation now holds on a wide variety of aircraft for systems like TCAS, FMS, EGPWS, EFIS, Moving Map, Satellite TV, SATCOM, High Speed Data and RVSM.
