Expanding Horizons
For the past 15 years, Pro Star has been proud to be the Authorized Pilatus Sales and Service Center for the Northeast U.S. region. As such, we have an obligation to provide maintenance within our assigned territory, including our Westernmost state: Michigan. Up until recently, we satisfied our Michigan-based clientele through a satellite repair station alliance with Signature TECHNICAir. Over the years, they have provided satellite aircraft maintenance support, maintaining our commitment to provide support throughout our entire territory. As Pro Star Aviation and our Pilatus clientele have grown significantly over our tenure as the Northeast Sales and Service Center, we have decided to expand. Not only will we be enlarging our main facility in Manchester, we are building a new modern facility in Grand Rapids, MI, which will focus on Pilatus aircraft maintenance in our Westernmost state.
The facility will be located in the Gerald R. Ford International Airport and will provide the same award-winning service our Pilatus clients are accustomed to at our Manchester facility. The facility is well on its way to reaching completion; the staffing is being scaled up and the construction and detail work will soon be finished. The facility is expected to open in early 2025, with full operation by the end of Q1. In addition to solidifying our responsibility to the western limits of our territory and increasing capacity at our main facility, we are also working with our affiliated company, Northeast Air. The majority ownership stake for Pro Star Aviation is the same family that owns Northeast Air. Northeast Air is a multi-generational family-owned FBO and MRO located in Portland ME. In addition to providing FBO services for both Business and Commercial aviation at KPWM, Northeast Air is also a satellite Pilatus Service Center offering the same full-service Pilatus support available in Manchester. The Northeast Air facility, along with our Michigan and Manchester facilities, will round out a strong territory-wide service strategy for our Pilatus customers.
In addition to providing expanded Pilatus maintenance opportunities in ME and MI, our Manchester location has recently been awarded the Northeast Dassault Aviation Service Center and we completed our 3-year Embraer Authorized Service Center renewal earlier this month. Our main location will provide maintenance, AOG, and avionics support to the Dassault, Embraer, and Pilatus brands. For many years Pilatus maintenance had been Pro Star’s focus. Since adding Embraer several years ago and FalconJet this past fall, our maintenance department is bursting at the seams. Even though we have two major satellite locations coming on-line for Pilatus service, the growth in the maintenance department from Embraer and FalconJet has necessitated a significant expansion at our main facility. The hangar expansion in Manchester is approved, designed, and will get underway in early 2025. All of our main services will still be centralized in Manchester, including all of the avionics installations and all of the service center maintenance outside of the Pilatus brand.
While the facility expansion in Manchester is in its earlier stages, we have already grown in many major ways. The addition of the Dassault Aviation Service Center authorization is still growing rapidly. The Embraer Service Center has been renewed for another 3 years. We have formalized our alliance with Northeast Air in Maine. The building process for our Michigan facility is well on its way. We are excited about this growth and expansion, as it offers us new avenues to satisfy our customers and offers the award-winning service Pro Star Aviation is known for across our entire service territory.
