(Londonderry, NH) May 2, 2024 – Pro Star Aviation, an innovative aerospace modification center, is pleased to announce it broke ground on a new $12.4 million, 37,000 square-foot hangar and office facility at the Grand Rapids Gerald R. Ford International Airport. The project includes a multi-bay aircraft maintenance hangar with a support mezzanine in addition to a 17,000-square-foot steel-framed office structure. The hangar will serve as a dedicated Pilatus Aircraft sales & service center. The project also includes a new 56,000-square-foot ramp and a new taxiway connector. Pioneer Construction is serving as the project general contractor with Bowers and Associates serving as architects.
The extensive two-story office facility features large, all-glass clerestory sections to enhance natural light flowing into the building. The space features modern amenities including a pilot lounge and customer relaxation areas. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 with occupancy in early 2025. Expanding Line Maintenance Capabilities
(Londonderry, NH) December 12, 2023 — Pro Star Aviation, an innovative aerospace maintenance and modification center, is proud to announce a new contract with Williams International, a renowned manufacturer of gas turbine engines, which expands its Line Maintenance Capabilities.
With this agreement expansion, Pro Star Aviation can perform additional maintenance line duties, including hosting Hot Section Inspections on wing. This eliminates the need to remove and return the engine to the factory. By completing HSI on wing, Pro Star Aviation significantly reduces downtime and cost for operators, streamlining maintenance processes and ensuring swift turnaround times.

Celebrating a Quarter-Century of Excellence
(Londonderry, NH) July 12, 2023 – Pro Star Aviation, an innovative aerospace modification center, announced today that they delivered a 120-month airframe inspection on an Embraer Phenom 300, within budget and exceeding the customers’ expectations.
The 120-month inspection is a significant maintenance milestone for the light business jet, which includes the landing gear overhaul. This aircraft required the engines to undergo a “Low Utilization” Inspection, including borescopes, compressor washes, and performance runs. With extensive Pratt & Whitney training and knowledge, Pro Star’s AMT’s accomplished the inspection in-house versus contracting a Pratt & Whitney mobile repair team, saving the customer thousands of dollars. In addition, the team modified the aircraft with Whelen Engineering Boom Beam HID taxi and landing lights and Concorde Dual Lead Acid Batteries utilizing STC’s for both modifications.

First In-Field Installation of Boom Beam HID Taxi and Landing Lighting System
(Londonderry, NH) March 31, 2023 — Pro Star Aviation, an innovative aerospace modification center, performed the one of first in-field installation of Whelen Aerospace Technologies Boom Beam HID Taxi and Landing light system on a Phenom 300 business jet.
The LSM-500-129-1 EMB 505 system features patented dual HID light technology. The NextGen high-powered lights increase safety, reduce the electrical load, and lessens the AOG downtime for lighting issues. “Partnering with Whelen Aerospace Technologies for the first in-field installation was effortless,” stated Director of Sales & Marketing Jeff Shaw, “The increased brightness and the ability to aim the lights over the factory system enhances safety and situational awareness for our customers.”
The LSM-500 comes standard with all-new precision polished CNC housing and WAT patented 85-watt power supplies. The installation can be performed in 3 days with a standard 5-year, 5,000-hour warranty.

New Technical Sales Manager, Maintenance Role

He will play a critical role as a new Technical Sales Manager, Maintenance in helping Pro Star Aviation meet the needs of its customer base. Mark Norklun is a familiar face at Pro Star Aviation. He was a vital team member as employee number one when they opened their doors in 1998. Mark served as the Maintenance Floor Lead until 2005 and held several Maintenance Manager positions at various organizations.
In this role, he will be responsible for supporting and generating leads, advancing the sales process, closing new business, and achieving/assisting in meeting opportunity-based sales quotas.
